    Re: latest patch spider

    hi guys

a bit of an old post, even out of topic, but saw this and wanted to reply anyway

About protek: only newcamd support (so no cccam!) - it's still my main box, with the less problems, ok. But ... the other one (mvision - with the cccam, even only just client - has also freeserver) is more fun to play with, but gives me more headache now and then ...

ps: there's a protek with cccam I think (the mk1), but would really not recommend this one to anyone.

Here is the list of packages that protek clears.

Just add www at the beginning

Protek sellers say the gift is not limited, but it does have breaks in server stabilty.

To be fair before HD became popular my SD5000 was really good and was used all the time, it was the perfect replacement for my trusty Technomate.

But when it came to buying a box for HD channels the Protek with it's packages and it's auto update feature, made me decide to buy it over the HD9000.

However within the space of a couple of months after buying the Protek the HD9000 dropped quite a bit in price, so I decided to by one! The reason for this is that each box could be set up on different servers to provide me a much wider range of viewing.

In brief when it comes down to comparing, the menu's on the Protek are far more user friendly than the HD9000, plus there is no sodding about with usb sticks to regually update it with patches.

But then again in my view the 9000 even scores less than the 5000!
Although the 5000 wasn't set up for HD it's menu's were by far easier to follow and the OSD was nicer and more colourful than the 9000.

Another Bonus is when channels don't clear the loss of having to sift through endless insulting post's on Alshat is something I do not miss!
