Once Enigma2 not officially developed as open source from Dream Multimedia will be an indefinite time, a successor as Open Source project to be launched.
The talk is of titanium!
Titan is a complete rewrite of Enigma2 based on C + +. It uses no more Python, which Titan will run faster by far than Enigma2.
Parts of Enigma2 are written in the interpreted language Python.
The Python code is present in the images in clear text and is only at run time from a Python interpreter running on the machine, resulting in increased computational complexity.
The advantage here is that without constant separate compilation of source code very fast and easy changes to the GUI can be made.
The new GUI titanium however, is completely implemented in C + +, which means that the source code before running already translated directly in the machine code (compiled) needs to be.
This in turn eliminates the computational cost of the interpreter and the GUI is very much faster and smoother than its Python's "image".
Titanium is also skin-compatible and can integrate existing Enigma2 Plugins.
Currently, Titan is in the past the alpha stage. When a first smoothly functioning version is available, the source code is made available in a public GIT repository for the community.
The development of titanium is driven by AAF_Board
