The leading Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat has entered into a major agreement with A+E Networks UK and will add the latter’s History, HD and Crime & Investigation Network to its offer.
In the case of Crime & Investigation Network, the channel will be rebranded Crime & Investigation Network Polsat. It will also be a broad cooperation between the companies that will, in the immediate term, involve distribution and promotion.
However, in the long term it could involve a variety of cooperative projects such as co-productions and exploring new media, including VOD, mobile etc.
Crime & Investigation Network Polsat will become the 15th channel in the Telewizja Polsat portfolio and be made, along with History, available to Cyfrowy Polsat subscribers on November 24.
History HD, on the other hand, will be offered from the start of 2012.
History will initially be placed in Cyfrowy Polsat’s Family HD package, which has 2.7 million subscribers, while Crime & Investigation Network Polsat, offered in both the Mini HD and Family HD packages, will reach the entire subscriber base of 3.5 million.
