So the ROFL Digital STB will be locked and customers will not even be able to watch the FTA channels until they phone a number (presumably a premium rate to compensate ROFL Digital's lack of income like EPG fees). Freesat and Sky don't cripple their boxes if we don't use them for their intended use...
A Sky box that don't have a subscription or cancel their subscription can still access the FTA channels via the Sky EPG.
A freesat box not used via the freesat EPG can still be used in non-freesat mode and store and watch FTA channels.
Although OFCOM has ruled in their favour, and they will be able to carry Sky Sports, Conax Encrypted.
