Codecs for BBC 27.5ºW

I have a TBS6922 card used with DVBDream v2.5a and vPlug... yesterday I got a Biss key for the BBC package on 27ºW but none of the codecs already tested can decode this channels.

Tested codecs:
Intervideo
Microsoft
Cyberlink
Nvidia
Sonic
Elecard
Lav
FFD Show

Can someone tell me what codec I have to use with this BBC channels?

Codecs does not decode channels. They decode multimedia content.
Video Codecs decode h264 or mpeg2. Audio codecs decode mpa, ac3 or aac.
According to lyngsat transponder 11495 V uses DVB-S2 mpeg 2 for SD channels and h264 for HD chnnels.
I absolutely sure LAV decoder can decode this transponder's streams.
Your problem is not codecs. Either your biss key is invalid or your v-plug configured wrong.

Codecs are needed for encoding or decoding a digital data stream (video or audio).
If you don't have the correct codec installed on your PC, you will not be able to play video or audio.

Codecs have nothing to do with what you really want.

You have find the correct keys in order to open the channels you want.

From what I can see dvbdream identifies the transponder 11495V as channel data and can not identify if the channels are mpeg2, mpeg4 or h264....

The dvbdream typically have the following appearance:



The number 1 changes to green if I have a key for decoding the channel.
The number 2 identify the codecs to the channel and if they are decoding the channel.


When I switch to a 27.5ºW (11495V) channel the appearance of the dvbdream change:



The number 1 is missing.
The number 2 is missing... seems that dvbdream can not identify the multimedia content of the channel.


Channel properties:




Even if the problem were the biss key the dvbdream should identify the multimedia content of the channel.

transponder #74 11495 V works on DVB-S2 simbolrate 44100 fec 9/10 , modulation QPSK and bears 3 types of content - mpeg4 hd channels, mpeg2 sd channels and radio channels, all encoded with BISS. Nothing really special except maybe a little unusual symbolrate. So if you have LAV filters you may be pretty sure you have all necessary staff on multimedia side to decode this transponder. For LAV filters work with h264, mpeg2, mpa, ac3 and even aac. To decode BISS encryption you need V-Plug and working BISS key. If you are sure you have all this staff and you can't watch these channels you have to dig somewhere else in your setup.

Hi mmoloch, there is some interesting info on ****** which you may already have seen that seems to relate to your problem, ****** "nbc qpsk modulation". Not sure if you will find the answer but some very interesting reading. Some of the threads go back a bit.

Already read that some receivers have problems with high symbolrate but in this case is not the problem, I can watch channels on other sats with higher symbolrate (45000).

I have the LAV filters installed and have tested over 15 different codecs, probably the problem is in my TBS6922 not supporting the nbc qpsk modulation but I find it very strange...

... if the card does not support the nbc qpsk modulation it should not find the channels in a channel search!!?!

I'll try to find some solution on the TBS forum.

As far as I know member digicon runs one of these cards too, hopefully he may see this post and be able to throw some light on the matter.

It seems to me that is the pc card that does not support the nbc qpsk modulation...

I've been testing with DVBViewer and it does not find the channels in the channel search.

Just wondering if the high Fec 9/10 could be the problem, it causes problems for quite a few Stb's. If it is the case then not much you can do to the best of my knowledge.

Its not capable only a few closed source receivers available are capable of doing it such as the TM5402HD,TM F3/5,Dr HD D15,F15 Clarke Tech 5000,4100 etc..

Linux machines can do it also but i have only found ones with Open PLI image and a combination of Oscam_Y_Mod to habdle the keys.

I do own a TBS6925 but personally have never tried as i have no need for thses channels

Yes digicon is totally right. I have it working correctly on 2 boxes duo and solo, but each box has to be individually programmed. Not for the faint hearted.
