Ok i try to help u again its complicated process because many things need to be on right place .
First on your pc
Install "VLC Media Player 0.8.1" on your PC. Last versions of "VLC Media Player" are not working properly with this plugin. If you already installed on your PC a newer version of videolan but you still want to install version 0.8.1 in a different folder to be used to watch movies from PC with your dreambox, you can do that since there are no problems with other existing versions. Do not use any space in the install folder name and uncheck all install options. If you are using version 0.8.1 only, please select and check all install options instead.
Select "VLC media player" icon on your desktop (create one if you don't have one) and right click with your mouse to select "Properties". Go to "Shortcut" and write after exe name:

"--intf wxwin --extraintf=http"

Make sure the shortcut you're working with points to the newly installed VLC Media Player 0.8.1

Run "VLC Media Player 0.8.1" by clicking over icon you just edited. If you get warning from windows firewall, click on "Unblock"
From the "Settings" menu select "Preferences..."
Select "Input" in the list at left of program window, input 8080 in "Server port" and save by clicking on "Save" key at the bottom

Exit VLC and run it again from the same shortcut
STILL ON THE PC
Extract VLC Client 0.2.3 and edit vlc.xml from var\tuxbox\config using Notepad or Notepad++ and put your PC IP as shown in green in the below image.
Also change the local directory on the PC pointing to your movies (shown in yellow in the below image)
Save vlc.xml

On dreambox
Copy all files you find in "VLC Client 0.2.3" zip archive to your dreambox with a ftp client or DCC:
"vlc.xml" on "/var/tuxbox/config"
"vlc.cfg" and "vlc.so" on "/var/tuxbox/plugins"
Goto plugins menu (generally clicking over yellow key) and run "VideoLanClient", you should see listed all content of folder you edited in "vlc.xml" file.

Select video file and press "OK" on remote to start play.
In few seconds, your Dreambox should start playing the selected video
I attach my vlc.xml file just put your ip and path to movies folder (my is d:\dreambox\movie)

ok, that makes sense, but is doable

FYI: found that a monitor cable of 5m costs about 10-15 EUR (internet) - you may consider this if the DB-way doens't work out.

rgb cable is the easyest way to connect.Your PC monitor is conected with that cable so your tv will act like monitor. look on back or front on your tv and write what conections are possible.

We are here to solve your problem,but tell me again,you want to watch movies from PC to your TV, corect?Whay to use dreambox?

Because i heave not usb or hdmi sock in my TV, now if you know sam other metod , please you can tell me (iheave not problem if we can do without Dreambox)

1 install play2dream on pc
2 make your settings(ip,user,passwd for access your dm)
3 run p2d and press step1-install(uninstall previous vlc first)
4 press Only change settings to dream
5 start vlc on pc
6 beer and popcorn
OK
disable firewall if u get''NO CONECTION TO VLC SERVER AVAILABLE''.
check if u have on startup vlc.exe

ps look cifs mount on dm500,with cifs u can record on pc;s hdd from dm

My friend i doo it everything but nothin again, i heave disable the firewall completly but again dreambox saying " NO CONNECTION TO VLC SERVER AVAILABLE"

with vlc works fine but all u can watch is .avi and .ts sd format(u can record as well in pc's hdd)
no mkv,no others hd quality,no dvd,no nothing

if this vlc-method works, there are several free video converters available (see ******), so it'll be possible to convert your existing files to .avi or .ts. As Gladiatorius has no hdtv, no need for hd.
